Online power: Use social media, email and newsletters to invite supporters to sign up

More support for your school

We know some PTAs need to take a different approach to fundraising as they may not have that school gate contact with parents and carers. It can be a challenge to let parents know that their participation can enhance the school community and their child’s education.

The Parents Lottery is a fantastic way to overcome these challenges. This online platform allows anyone in the UK to support your cause, from parents and carers to their extended networks. Share your unique link and watch the support roll in. No collecting cash or chasing donations!

Yes. We use the term PTA to mean any parent body associated with an educational establishment in England, Wales or Scotland, for which your association raises funds for the benefit of the school community. We welcome all parent groups, PTAs, PTFAs, Friends Associations, Community Associations, HSAs etc.

Our PTA/school is based in Northern Ireland. Can we take part in the lottery?

Unfortunately, Northern Ireland gambling laws currently prevent us offering The Parents Lottery to PTAs and schools in Northern Ireland. We continuously review the situation, and we will contact all PTAs and schools in Northern Ireland should we be able to include you in the future.

We are a school, do we need to be a registered charity?

No. Your school does not need to be a registered charity to benefit, but we advise checking your fundraising policy before registering.

Are you a Parentkind PTA member?

Parentkind is the membership association for PTAs in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We support over 13,000 members to raise vital funds for schools, helping to enrich the educational experience for millions of children across the UK.

“When I first started, I knew nothing about running a PTA. One of the ways Parentkind helped me was by helping us become a charity. I didn’t even know Parentkind could do that. They helped with our constitution. We did a lot of the hard work, but they were there to support us and give us the tools we needed.”

- Eve Daniels, Treasurer
